What should have been a memorable day for football fans in the ‘City of Joy’ turned into a nightmare. Messi’s presence caused more chaos due to the chaos inside the stadium. The situation went out of control as soon as Messi entered the field. Due to the chaos, the event was stopped midway, due to which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who were present at the stadium for the event, could not meet the legendary football player.
The situation became so bad that ‘GOAT Tour’ organizer Shatadru Dutta and security personnel had to take Messi out of the stadium safely. Fans who had bought tickets worth Rs 4,500 to Rs 10,000 to see the Argentinian star player threw bottles and broke seats in frustration. After this, the police had to work hard to bring the situation under control.
