Liquor ban in mp: Tuesday is going to be a historic day for 19 holy places of Madhya Pradesh. Liquor ban is going to be done here from April 1. State Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced this recently. The announcement of liquor ban in 19 religious cities and gram panchayats of the state by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will start implementation from April 1, 2025.
This announcement of the Chief Minister was approved by the cabinet in Maheshwar, the city of Lokmata Ahilyabai on 24 January. According to the decision, all liquor shops and bars will be closed in the entire urban boundary of Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Maheshwar, Mandleshwar, Orchha, Maihar, Chitrakoot, Datia, Panna, Mandla, Multai, Mandsaur and Amarkantak and in the Gram Panchayat limits of Salkanpur, Kundalpur, Bandakpur, Barmanakhan, Barmanakhurd and Linga. Complete prohibition has been done from April 1, declaring these 19 urban and rural areas of the state as fully sacred.
Chief Minister Yadav said that historical steps were taken by the state government towards de -addiction. This step will be effective in 19 urban areas and gram panchayats of reverence from public faith and religious terms. Among the religious places where liquor ban was decided, one is a municipal corporation, six municipalities, six municipal councils and six gram panchayats.
Among the major holy cities in which liquor ban is being implemented, Ujjain, the city of Baba Mahakal, the origin of the Narmada River, considered the lifeline of the state, Amarkantak, Maheshwar, Orchha Ramraja Temple Area, Omkareshwar, Satdhara area in Mandla, Tapti Udgam area in Multai, Pitambara Devipith Datia, Jabalpur Bandaghat Kshetra, Chitra, Chitra, Salakanpur, Salakanpur Mandleshwar, Vandravan, Khajuraho, Nalkheda, Pashupatinath Temple are Mandsaur, Barman Ghat and Panna. From April 1, there will be complete prohibition in all these areas.
