Back to back liquor contracts will be closed this week in Delhi. That is, dry day will remain. This is going to happen with Independence Day and Janmashtami. On August 15, contracts will be closed for Independence Day and Janmashtami on 16 August. Alcohol will not be sold for two consecutive days. August 15 is Friday and 16 August is Saturday. In Delhi, a crowd is seen outside the weekend in liquor contracts and restaurants. But this time, due to dry day, alcohol lovers will have to wait for the next week or keep stock in advance.
Please tell here that if a person has already bought and kept, then he can drink alcohol inside his house. The rule of dry day does not apply on the consumption of alcohol indoors. This rule applies only to the sale, not on intake.
Order issued by Exide Dimartment
The order has been issued by the Exide Dimartment of Delhi Government. It has been said in the order that all retail liquor shops, bar, hotels and clubs will be closed on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October along with Independence Day.
1-15/l-15F licensed hotels discount
The rule of Dry Day will not apply to the room service of liquor to be given in hotels with 1-15/l-15F license. The Excise Department gives this license to the hotels that are from the Star category and are approved by the Tourism Department of the Government of India.
When will the contracts be closed in Delhi?
- August 15- Independence Day
- August 16- Janmashtami
- September 5- Eid-e-Milad
- October 2- Gandhi Jayanti
- October 7- Valmiki Jayanti
- October 20- Deepawali
In India, it is not allowed to sell alcohol on dry day. It is a crime to do so. Dry Day is declared for national festival, state festival, religious festival, elections and birth anniversary of great men. The states make a list according to their own. Complete liquor ban is applicable in states like Bihar and Gujarat. If caught selling liquor on dry day, you may have to face action like fine or cancellation of license.
