Shoaib Jamai, state president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen i.e. AIMIM in New Delhi, has demanded closure of all liquor shops in the month of Ramzan. This appeal was made on February 19, when the start of Ramadan was announced. Referring to the month of Sawan, he has also asked the Delhi government to ban the sale and consumption of liquor in public places.
Shoaib Jamai has made this demand through a post on social media platform X in which he demanded action from the government. He said that Ramzan is the holy month of Muslims, hence liquor shops should be closed during this period.
Giving the example of the month of Sawan in his post, he wrote that when respect is shown by closing non-veg shops in Sawan, the same respect should be given in Ramzan. He also demanded a ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in public places.
We appeal to the Delhi government to close all liquor shops inside Delhi during the holy month of Ramzan. Sale and consumption of liquor should be banned in public places.
