Former Indian batsman ML Jaisimha was the second player to be dismissed on a score of 99. He missed just one run against Pakistan in 1960.
Left -handed batsman Ajit Wadekar was out on a score of 99 against Australia in 1967. He is the first Indian player to be out on a score of 99 abroad.

Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag is also included in this list. Sehwag was out on a score of 99 against Sri Lanka in 2010.
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni missed a run of a century against England in 2012. Dhoni was dismissed at 99.
The name of former Indian opener batsman Murali Vijay is also included in this list. Vijay was dismissed for 99 against Australia in 2014.
The name of the wicketkeeper batsman of the Indian team was also included in the list last year. He was dismissed for 99 runs in 2024 against New Zealand.
