It seems like 2025 is the year of retirement. By August, big legendary players have said goodbye to cricket and now the newest name is associated with Cheteshwar Pujara Retirement. Pujara was able to play only 5 matches in his ODI career, but scored a total of 7,195 runs in 103 Test matches. Prior to him, in 2025, many famous players including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired.

Cricketer who retired in 2025

Rohit Sharma- The Test series against England was getting closer, IPL 2025 had passed half. The date of May 7 came when Rohit Sharma shocked everyone by announcing Test retirement. Rohit retired from T20 in 2024 itself. They will still play in ODI.

Virat Kohli- It was only 5 days of Rohit retired, then on May 12, Virat Kohli also announced his retirement and made it clear that he will never play for India in white jersey. Virat also said goodbye to the T20 format in 2024. They too will now be seen playing only ODI matches.

Varun Aaron- Fast bowler Varun Aaron played only 9 Tests and 9 ODIs for India. He was known for throwing the ball at a speed of his 150 km per hour. He announced his retirement in January 2025.

Wriddhiman Saha- Wicketkeeper batsman Riddhiman Saha played a total of 49 international matches for India. He retired from all formats of cricket on 1 February. Saha has 142 first-class matches experience.

Cheteshwar Pujara- Cheteshwar Pujara has said goodbye to cricket at the age of 37. He played only 5 ODI matches for India, but emerged as a Test legend. He scored 7195 runs for Team India at an average of 43.60 in 103 Tests, including 19 centuries.
