Bangladesh defeated Hong Kong by 7 wickets and registered the first win in the Asia Cup 2025. On the other hand, this was the second consecutive defeat of Hong Kong, due to which it has almost been out of the Asia Cup 2025. In this match, Hong Kong played a respectable score of 143 runs while playing first. In response, Bangladesh won by 7 wickets with 14 balls remaining. Captain Litton Das became the hero of Bangladesh’s victory.
Hong Kong’s team once scored 117 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Captain Yasim Murtaza looked in good form, but then he was runout on the score of 28. Had Murtaza not out, the team could have comfortably scored the score of 150 runs.
Litton Das lying heavy on Hong Kong
The Bangladesh team, which came to chase the target of 144 runs, had lost two big wickets in the powerplay overs. Tight bowling from Hong Kong had rescued the sweat of ‘Bengal Tigers’ for one time. But for the third wicket, Litton Das and Tauheed Heart almost ensured Bangladesh’s victory by parting 95 runs.
Litton Das played a captaincy innings of 59 runs, he scored these runs in 39 balls. On the other hand, Tauheed returned unbeaten after scoring 35 runs. Talking about Hong Kong, Atik Iqbal took 2 wickets, while Ayush Shukla was able to take one wicket.
Hong Kong almost out
Hong Kong was placed in Group B along with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. In the first match, Hong Kong suffered a big defeat of 94 runs at the hands of Afghanistan. Now Bangladesh has washed him by 7 wickets. Now in the group phase, it is almost impossible for Hong Kong to go to Super-4 for Hong Kong.
