According to officials, the plane carrying Pawar (66) and four other people crashed at Baramati airport at 8.50 am. All five people on board the plane died in this accident. The woman told that she had seen the plane circling above Baramati airport in the morning.
The sound of the explosion reached our homes far away – eyewitness
The woman said, “The plane circled in the air, it looked a bit unstable. As the plane was moving towards the runway for landing, it hit the ground hard and exploded. There was a loud bang, which was heard till our house.”

“The way the plane was coming down, we thought it was going to crash. It was about 100 feet above the runway. As we ran towards the plane, we saw flames followed by four to five explosions in a row, which forced us not to go near the plane,” he told reporters. He said, “The fire was very severe. Later we came to know that Pawar was on board the plane. It was shocking for us.”
Another eyewitness, Pramod Madurikar, said that immediately after the accident, the bodies were identified and sent in ambulances, while fire department personnel reached the spot almost immediately to help in rescue and emergency operations.
