Lohri is directly related to farming and harvest. On this day, farmers celebrate the Rabi harvest and thank nature. Family and friends gather around the bonfire and sing folk songs, perform Bhangra-Gidda and offer traditional things to the fire.

Revadi has special significance on Lohri. This crispy sweet made of sesame seeds, jaggery and ghee is very much liked in winters. Along with taste, it also helps in keeping the body warm and giving energy, hence it is considered auspicious to distribute it among relatives.
