There is news of great relief for the people troubled by traffic challans in Delhi. A special Traffic Lok Adalat is being organized in the national capital on 14 February 2026. This Lok Adalat will be held from 10 am to 4 pm in seven court complexes of Delhi – Patiala House, Karkardooma, Tis Hazari, Saket, Rohini, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue. People whose traffic challans are pending for a long time can take advantage of this opportunity to settle their cases with less penalty. Delhi Police has also appealed to the people to take advantage of this opportunity.
In which traffic violations can relief be given?
Many types of traffic cases will be settled in Lok Adalat. This includes challans for cases like over speeding, driving without helmet or seatbelt, jumping red light, driving without PUC certificate, wrong parking, ignoring traffic signals and wrong number plate. In these cases, there can be a relaxation in the amount of the challan, which will provide financial relief to the people.
It is necessary to register online
This Lok Adalat is being jointly organized by Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi State Legal Service Authority (DSLSA). To participate in this, it is mandatory to register online first. For this you will have to download your challan through Delhi Traffic Police website or the given QR code. This facility has started from 9 February 2026. Keep in mind that only 50,000 challans can be downloaded per day and the total limit is 2 lakh challans.
Which documents will be required?
After downloading the challan, you will have to register online. After registration, a token number will be sent to email or mobile. While going to Lok Adalat, it is necessary to carry the printout of the challan or notice with you. Apart from this, all the necessary documents like RC of the vehicle, driving license, insurance and pollution certificate should also be kept with you.
