Love marriage has still not received social acceptance in India. In very rare cases, there is consent from both the families. One such shocking case has come to light from Telangana, where the girl’s father, angry over a love marriage, set the young man’s house on fire.
The controversy arising out of love marriage in Sangareddy district took a terrible form. In Kakkarwad village of Jharasangham mandal, a youth’s house was set on fire and his father was fatally attacked. This entire incident is said to be the result of the anger of the girl’s father, who was not happy with this relationship.
Monica’s family was not happy
According to the information, Mudiraj Krishna and Monica, residents of the same village, had recently had a love marriage. Monica’s family, especially her father, was deeply angry about this marriage. There was a lot of tension going on between them regarding this matter. The situation became so bad that Monica’s father decided to take revenge.
Police started investigating the case
He first attacked Krishna’s father Ramulu and then in a fit of rage set his house on fire. As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department team reached the spot and controlled the fire after a lot of effort. Krishna’s family has lodged a complaint regarding this matter with the police, after which the police have registered a case and started investigation. Police is busy searching for the accused.
According to a survey conducted in 2018, 93 percent of married Indians said that their marriage was an arranged marriage, only 3 percent had a love marriage. 2 percent people described their marriage as love-cum-arranged marriage.
