Even today (Wednesday, March 11) many hotels are affected due to gas problem in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai. More than 20 percent hotels are facing problems. The hotels whose work was affected yesterday due to shortage of cylinders, today have borrowed cylinders from big hotels and are trying to run them till the evening.
On the other hand, the food menu has been reduced by more than half. The thing which takes a lot of time to make, now you will not get it in food. Like tea and dosa will be available only for a limited time. Biryani and Pav Bhaji will also not be able to be prepared because it requires more gas.
Hot and fresh food will not be available
Fresh and instant hot food will not be available, they will be given whatever is prepared. Apart from this, the hotel has also put up a board outside for the customers that everything will not be available due to gas problem. Not only this, the remaining small hotels are still closed.
Demand for help from Petroleum Minister
Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AAHAR) has expressed concern over the shortage of commercial cylinders. Aahar has said that there is a huge shortage of commercial cylinders. Due to this, about 20 percent of hotels and restaurants have had to stop their operations. Also, Aahar has written a letter to Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri demanding a solution. At the same time, the Diet delegation will meet Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal today regarding the gas crisis.
50 percent hotels may be closed
Aahar president Vijay Shetty warned that up to 50 percent of Mumbai’s restaurants could close if supplies were not restored within the next 72 hours. Due to increasing conflict between America, Israel and Iran, the movement of tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has almost come to a standstill. India also imports a large part of its LPG gas through this route, so the supply has been badly affected.
