His profession income will be taxed at 30 percent, which will be Rs 8 crore 6 lakh. The tax will be Rs 11.04 crore after surcharge. If their earnings are more than Rs 5 crore, then the surcharge will be applicable 37 percent. After adding 4 percent of health and education cess, their total tax will be Rs 11.48 crore. News18 quoted Aquilal’s Executive Director-tax, Rajarshi Dasgupta as saying that, “Under the new tax system, out of the services of Pant’s team, the Indian government will claim tax of Rs 10.53 crore (30% income tax, 25% surcharge and 4% cess), which will give Pant a cash of Rs 16.47 crore per season.
The franchise will deduct 10 percent of TDS while giving this amount, which Pant can get while filing income tax returns.
