IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant on Tuesday played a brilliant innings of 118 runs against RCB in the last league stage match of the season. In this match, he celebrated it by hitting ‘Flip’ after scoring a century, it was a satisfactory innings for him because earlier his bat had only 151 runs in the entire season. After the match, the BCCI imposed a huge fine of Rs 30 lakh on captain Pant. While the match fee of all the players including Digvesh Rathi was also paid.
Why is Rishabh Pant fined Rs 30 lakh?
LSG captain Rishabh Pant and his team were fined for maintaining a slow over speed during the match against RCB. Because it is the third offense of Lucknow Super Giants under the Code of Conduct related to the minimum over-perpetual offenses of IPL, the team captain Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 30 lakh.
Whereas in this match with the impact player, the rest of the players of the playing XI personally have been fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 percent of their match fees (whichever less).
Captain’s century innings could not get LSG win
Pant’s personal performance was also not good in IPL 2025, he scored just 151 runs in 13 innings played before the last match. In the final match, he played an unbeaten 118 runs and took the team’s score to 227. However, the LSG lost, defending this big score.
Rishabh Pant scored 269 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2025 with 24.45 average, which does not suit his price tag. He was bought by Lucknow for Rs 27 crore, it was expected that he would win the title to the team but his team was out of the league stage itself.
