Devendra Pandey (Gop Ji), special representative of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, spoke to the media in Ayodhya. While talking to the media, he targeted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Uttar Pradesh government. He alleged that BJP’s definition of Hindutva has been limited to remaining silent on issues like atrocities on saints and cow slaughter.

Devendra Pandey said that Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has been agitating for a long time to protect Sanatan traditions and religious beliefs. Shankaracharya also raised his voice against the uninterrupted and pure flow of Ganga, protection of Ram Sethu, protection of temples and monasteries and the ban imposed on Ganesh immersion. During this movement, he was also lathicharged, but despite this he continued the struggle to protect religious traditions.

‘Movement against those who harm Sanatan Dharma’

He said that at present a campaign is being run by Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati, under which a movement is being conducted on the basis of evidence against those governments and people who are working in the guise of saffron to harm Sanatan Dharma, demolish temples and promote cow slaughter.

‘Real and fake saints will be identified in the programme’

Devendra Pandey told that under this campaign a special event will be organized in Lucknow on March 11. In this program it will be clarified who are the real and fake saints in the Sanatan tradition. He said that recently Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also said that “Kalanemi” are roaming around in the guise of sages, hence efforts will be made to identify such people through this program.

Appeal made to the saints of Ayodhya

He said that under this campaign he has come to Ayodhya and is appealing to the saints here for cooperation to protect Sanatan Dharma, Ganga, Cow Mother and Dandi Sanyasi tradition. He has also urged the Sant Samaj of Ayodhya to stand with Shankaracharya in this campaign.
