Singer Lucky Ali has criticized Javed Akhtar on X (formerly known as Twitter) after his Hindu-Muslim comment at an event went viral. In fact, veteran lyricist-poet Javed Akhtar had advised Hindus ‘not to become like Muslims’. Social media users were divided on Javed Akhtar’s comments. Some people praised him, while many people including Lucky Ali expressed their anger on him.
What did Javed Akhtar say?
Javed Akhtar talked about the famous ‘Yunki Yeh Kaun Bola’ scene of Hema Malini and Dharmendra starrer film ‘Sholay’ in an event. He said, “There was a scene in Sholay in which Dharmendra speaks hiding behind the idol of Shivji and Hema Malini (thinks) that Shivji is talking to him. Is such a scene possible today? No, I will not write such a scene today. Were there no Hindus in 1975 (when Sholay was released)? Were there no religious people?”
He further said, “Actually, I am saying it on record, I am not saying this here. Raju Hirani and I were in front of a big audience in Pune and I said, ‘Don’t be like the Muslims, make them like you. You are becoming like the Muslims. This is a tragedy.’ However, the time and date of the program in which Javed Akhtar attended could not be verified.
Lucky Ali angry over Javed Akhtar’s statement
Lucky Ali replied to an ex-user who had posted Javed Akhtar’s Hindu-Muslim statement. The singer got angry at Javed Akhtar and wrote, “Don’t be like Javed Akhtar, never be as ugly as real or fake.”

Even in the comment section, fans of Lucky Ali and Javed Akhtar were divided among themselves and soon an X-war started. The veteran lyricist has not yet responded to Lucky Ali’s comment.
