French President Emmanuel Macron discussed in detail India-France relations, technical cooperation, global balance of power and the emerging world order between America and China in the show with famous podcaster Raj Shamani. This episode has come at a time when Macron is on a tour of India and his important meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also proposed.

During the podcast, Raj Shamani asked Macron, ‘Do you think India and France are setting an example?’ On this, Macron underlined the growing cooperation between the two countries and said that the partnership has continuously strengthened in various key areas. He said, ‘Initiatives for cooperation have been taken with your country in many important areas. I truly believe that when we work together we deliver better results.

Strategic autonomy and balanced global relations

Macron said, ‘Both France and India do not want to depend on any one superpower. We do not want to depend on either of the two big powers. We want to have good relations with both America and China. India and France have different relations with these two countries. Macron clearly said, ‘We are supportive of this approach.’

France’s message to Indian students

During the podcast, Macron also invited Indian students to come to France. He said, ‘I want to give a message to Indian students that if you come to France you will get access to high quality universities and institutions.’ He also clarified that there are ample opportunities available in English language for studies in France. France is home to large companies, prestigious institutions, and Europe’s most vibrant startup and innovation ecosystem. France has been making efforts to increase the number of Indian students for the last few years. Cooperation between the two countries is increasing rapidly in the fields of technology, management, artificial intelligence and research.

Mumbai visit and meeting with Prime Minister Modi

The French President reached Mumbai on Tuesday, where he was welcomed by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar were also present on the occasion. After arrival in Mumbai, Macron is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which defense cooperation, investment, technical partnership and global issues are likely to be discussed. This visit is taking place at a time when the balance of power is changing at the global level and India-France relations are gaining new strategic importance.
