For the last one week, Stranger Things 5 has been discussed everywhere on the internet. Various things are being talked about from the finale of the show to its spin-off. The journey of this popular series ended on New Year’s Day, which was watched and discussed a lot by the fans. Even though Stranger Things is one of the most watched shows worldwide, season 5 in India could not come at number one in terms of viewership. Here it got second place, and this too was left behind by none other than Madhuri Dixit.
Mrs. Deshpande beats Stranger Things 5
Ormax Media has recently shared the data of OTT viewership in India, which is between 22 to 28 December. Madhuri Dixit’s new Jio Hotstar psychological thriller series Mrs. Deshpande topped this list. In this show, Madhuri is playing the role of a serial killer, who tricks the police. According to the report, the show got 42 lakh views that week.
Whereas, Stranger Things 5 was released on December 25 and it got 33 lakh views that week. For this reason, it stood second in India and lagged behind Mrs. Deshpande. However, at the international level, Stranger Things 5 won and it got more than 3 crore views worldwide compared to Madhuri’s series. Some other shows were also included in the top-5 list of Ormax. This included Netflix’s Single Papa, which got 18 lakh views. Whereas Jio Hotstar’s Pharma got 16 lakh views. Apart from this, Prime Video’s series Four More Shots Please received 13 lakh views.

About Mrs. Deshpande
Mrs. Deshpande is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. Along with Madhuri Dixit, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Siddharth Chandekar are also seen in important roles in this series. It was released on 19 December. The story revolves around the Mumbai Police, who seek the help of an imprisoned serial killer to solve new cases, as his copycat starts making new victims. It got mixed response from the audience. Madhuri’s acting was praised.
