A painful road accident took place in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (8 November) night. Meanwhile, a speeding car hit an autorickshaw and fell into the pond, due to which a Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leader and his friend died.
A police officer gave this information about this accident on Sunday. The official said that after the accident that took place at Lakshman Sagar pond, about 22 km from the district headquarters, at around 11.30 pm on Saturday night, two other people traveling in the vehicle swam and came out safely.

Kuthla police station in-charge RP Mishra said that Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Bilhari Mandal President Prashant Nayak (28) was returning home with his friends Vikas Tiwari, Abhishek Chaurasia and Aman Tamrakar (26) when the speeding car went out of control.
He told that the car collided with an autorickshaw parked on the roadside and fell into the pond. Two people died in this incident, while two others managed to swim out. Nayak and Tiwari got trapped in the submerged vehicle, resulting in their death while Chaurasia and Tamrakar managed to swim to safety, the official said.

The station in-charge said that before the car fell into the water, Chaurasia, who was sitting behind, opened his door in time and as soon as it landed in the pond, he came out and helped Tamrakar sitting next to him to come out and swim to a safe place.
The officer said that Chaurasia had tried to save Nayak and Tiwari sitting in front, but he failed as their doors were closed. He said that the car with both the bodies was taken out late at around 3 o’clock in the night. He said that a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
Police reached the spot after receiving information
Information about this incident was given to the police. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and a rescue operation was conducted. In this, two people were taken out safely, but the bodies of the other two people were found. The injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem.
At present the police has started investigating the matter. The families of the deceased were informed about the bodies through Panchnama. Besides, the administration assured to provide all possible help to the families of the deceased.
