Maharashtra ats: The Maharashtra ATS, who was investigating the case of spying for Pakistan while living in India, found out that the women agents of the Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO), who worked under the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, used Indian SIM card to implicate the accused Ravi Verma in the honey trap.
Sources claimed that the investigation revealed that the women agents of PIO deliberately used the Indian SIM card so that Ravi Verma and Indian security agencies could not feel that the talks are going on with Pakistan. Women agents, describing themselves as an Indian citizen, contacted Verma and seduced him and asked her to get sensitive defense information, photos and videos like Warship and Submarine.
Pak agents used Indian numbers
According to ATS sources, the 5-6 mobile numbers that were contacted to the accused are all Indian SIM cards. It is not yet clear who and how this SIM card should be provided to Pakistani agents. In this episode, the ATS has intensified the investigation. Sources further stated that, in the initial investigation, there have been strong indications that Pak agents used Ravi Verma in Honey Trap using Indian numbers. Following this revelation, the ATS has also issued a public advisory, appealing to citizens not to take messages or calls coming from unknown Indian numbers and foreign numbers seriously and do not respond to them. Also, give information about any such suspicious calls or messages immediately to the police.
Indian SIMs are targeting through cards
Sources further stated that this is not a single case. Investigation has revealed that PIO agents are targeting not only Ravi Verma, but also many people in different parts of India through Indian SIM cards. This is his new modus operandi, which has come out after the Pahalgam attack.
A person involved in providing Indian SIM card
Meanwhile, the Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested a person named Hasan on Tuesday (June 3), who was involved in providing Indian SIM cards to Pakistani agents. Now Maharashtra ATS is in constant contact with the Delhi Police to find out whether any link to Hasan is connected to the Ravi Verma case. Sources said that the investigation has also revealed that between November 2024 to March 2025, Ravi Verma gave around Rs 9,000 in exchange for sharing intelligence from Pakistani agents. These money were transferred from dead account to different bank accounts, whose analysis is still going on.
