In Maharashtra, the Revenue Department has ordered an inquiry into a land deal worth Rs 300 crore in Pune involving Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar and suspended the sub-registrar concerned. According to sources, the controversial deal is related to the sale of 40 acres of government land of Mahar Watan, in which Parth Pawar was a partner, which was sold to Amadea Enterprises LLP. Alleged irregularities have come to light in the deal, including exemption in stamp duty and illegal sale of government assets to a private firm.
Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an investigation. Revenue department sources said that in the 7/12 extract, the land is registered in the name of ‘Mumbai Government’, while the names of the sellers are visible on the property card, who transferred it to the private firm.
All information is being taken from concerned departments – Devendra Fadnavis
Parth Pawar, who partners with Digvijay Patil in the firm, did not comment. Speaking to the media in Nagpur, Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Primarily this matter seems to be serious. All information is being taken from the concerned departments. Orders for investigation have been given. I will talk about the action after getting all the details.”
What did Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule say?
RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar has posted on Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “The department will thoroughly investigate the matter after the complaint submitted by activist Anjali Damania by November 11.” The Industries Department gives exemptions or concessions to encourage certain industries. That department will provide all relevant details.”
Government land should be investigated with complete transparency – Congress
The opposition has also demanded a thorough investigation into this deal. Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar said, “This government land purchased by the company of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s son Parth Pawar should be investigated with complete transparency. This land belongs to the government and was sold without the approval of the Revenue Department.”
Actual value of land Rs 1800 crore- Ambadas Danve
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve alleged that the actual value of the land is Rs 1,800 crore and how a company with only Rs 1 lakh capital proposed to build an IT park is beyond comprehension. Danve also criticized the completion of the deal in 27 days and waiver of stamp duty. Danve further said, “Earlier Ajit Pawar used to say that people want everything for free. If it is so, then why do they want this land for free?”
