Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has described a possible political alliance between Thackeray brothers Uddhav and Raj as a “new direction” step for the politics of Maharashtra. He made sharp allegations against the BJP in the weekly column ‘Rokathok’ of the mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ and said that the unity of the Thackeray brothers has been nervous in Delhi and Maharashtra.
Sanjay Raut, while launching a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said, “BJP’s policy is to rob Mumbai first, then to make Mumbai a union territory and play a game for a separate Vidarbha, to eliminate the existence of Maharashtra.”
Fadnavis raised the poster of Vidarbha- Raut
Raut targeted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and said, “People have not forgotten that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had raised posters that gave the message of ‘Vidarbha my only state’ during the movements in Nagpur in the past.”
‘Industrialist will swallow Mumbai’
Rajya Sabha MP Raut wrote in a warning tone, ,If the unity and leadership of the Thackeray brothers is not intact, then Mumbai will be swallowed by industrialists and one day it will not be a part of Maharashtra. ” He also reminded that in April, MNS chief Raj Thackeray had spoken of solidarity to his cousin Uddhav Thackeray, calling the old differences ‘insignificant’.
Referring to the historic meeting on July 5, Raut said, “On July 5, Raj and Uddhav Thackeray came together to confident ‘Marathi Manus’.” On that day, the two leaders shared a platform for the first time in about 20 years, when the BJP government withdrew two government proposals related to the implementation of Hindi language from class 1.
Announcement of alliance is necessary
However, Raut also clarified that, “It does not mean that all the problems of Marathi Manus have been solved. The issues that Marathi Manus is harassing the same. The Thackeray brothers have shown solidarity against the imposition of Hindi, but the political alliance between the two parties has not yet been announced, it is necessary that there will be a new direction.
Raut claimed, “Delhi and Maharashtra governments have been shaken by the unity of Thackeray brothers.” This gesture was clearly towards the BJP. Raut said that by meeting Raj Thackeray by Chief Minister Fadnavis, the political atmosphere has been heated and now the MNS president will speak himself and will remove the confusion. Raut also said that “Marathi Manus should first fight for Mumbai and Thane.”
