Maharashtra rains alert: Life has been disturbed due to heavy rains in Maharashtra. Many people have lost their lives in this rains. In such a situation, relief and rescue operations have been started in the disaster arising amid the ongoing excess rainfall. For this, two teams of NDRF have been deployed in Mumbai, while two teams of NDRF have been deployed in Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts.
Apart from this, one team of SDRF has reached Gadchiroli and Nanded. This information was given by Disaster Management Director Sashtikumar Khadke.
SMS alerts sent to 93 lakh people
A total of 17 alerts have been sent on Wednesday, May 28 through the ‘Sachet’ app. These alert messages have been sent to 93 lakh 33 thousand citizens to be vigilant from disaster.
Rescue of 39 citizens in Ahilyanagar district
Flood situation had arisen due to overflow in Akanere, Khadki, Valki, Sonewadi Road and Shirdon areas of Ahilyanagar taluka in Ahilyanagar district. Here 39 citizens trapped in the floods were taken to safe places by the teams of army, fire party and municipal administration.
Orange alert for next 24 hours
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Washim, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur and Gondia districts.
Heavy rain recorded in the last 24 hours
In the last 24 hours, Buldhana (47.9 mm), Akola (46 mm), Jalna (44.6 mm), Yavatmal (39.7 mm) and Ratnagiri (35.7 mm) districts of Maharashtra have received the highest rainfall in Maharashtra’s Buldhana (47.9 mm), Jalna (44.6 mm), Yavatmal (39.7 mm), the director Mr. Khadke said.
14 people and 20 animals died
A total of 14 people and 20 animals died between May 27 to May 28 (till 4 pm) due to wall fall, trees falling, lightning, fire and flood incidents in Maharashtra. At the same time, 16 people and 1 animals have been injured.
