Nana Patole resigns from the post of Maharashtra Congress President
Let me tell you that earlier after the defeat of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra assembly elections, Nana Patole resigned as Maharashtra Congress President. Harshavardhan Sapkal was replaced as the President of Maharashtra Congress. This was a big change in the state organization of the party after the crushing defeat of the Congress in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
By appointing Sapkal, the party is trying to strengthen the organization before the upcoming local and municipal civic elections in Maharashtra. In front of Sapkal, there is a big challenge to re -achieve their old reputation by bringing all the groups together to bring new life in the party organization and to compete with the BJP -led Mahayuti.
At the same time, the Congress high command appointed the party’s veteran leader and former Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
Congress won only 16 seats in assembly elections
In Maharashtra, the ruling NDA defeated the Congress Party and Maha Vikas Aghadi in the elections. The Congress party contested 103 seats in the state, but got only 16 seats. At the same time, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections led by Nana Patole, the Congress party won 13 seats in a brilliant performance.
