Last week, Malaysian-Indian businessman Vinod Shekhar was attacked by two miscreants in South London. Vinod was returning to his daughter’s house after visiting with his wife and family when this incident happened. During the attack, his wife Winnie Yep bravely faced the attackers and forced them to flee.
Petra Group Chairman and CEO Vinod Shekhar narrated the entire incident on Facebook. He wrote that the day was very good with the family in Oxford. After watching the musical ‘Hamilton’ in the evening, he reached his daughter’s house near Battersea Power Station. Then suddenly two people appeared and attacked Vinod. He hit him on his thighs and chest and pulled the watch from his hand.
Couldn’t compete due to health issue
Vinod told that he could not compete properly due to his health and the medications he was taking after the transplant. He said that I tried, but due to the condition of my body I could not struggle for long. they wrote. The attackers broke the band of the watch, snatched it and tried to escape.
The miscreants ran away due to the bravery of the wife.
During this time his wife Winnie Yep came forward. She started shouting loudly, waving her bag and stood in front of the miscreants without any fear. Seeing his courage, both the attackers got scared and ran away on an electric bike. Vinod wrote, ‘My wife became a lioness like always and drove away the attackers.’
Police warned
Within a few minutes London Police reached the spot. A police officer told Vinod that he was lucky, because if he had protested he could have suffered serious injuries. After the incident, Vinod warned travelers not to go out on the roads wearing expensive watches or bags as safety is not always what it seems. He said, ‘Watch, purse or phone can be bought again, but life and your loved ones cannot.’ Vinod wrote at the end of his post, ‘Be careful, stay safe and be grateful for the things every day that no one can take away from you.’
