Mallikarjun kharge: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called on the party’s district unit heads to unite with a long -term strategy to win elections in states on Thursday (March 27, 2025). He said that the ideology of the organization is strong, but it cannot be implemented in the country without power.
Addressing the meeting of the presidents of the District Congress Committees (DCC), Kharge said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the parties of the ‘India’ coalition fought unitedly against the BJP and its allies, making the BJP limited to 240 seats. He said that if the Congress got 20-30 seats, then an alternative government would have been formed. The meeting of DCC presidents is being held in different stages in three days. DCC chiefs of 13 states and three union territories attended today’s meeting.
‘Congress gives a big shock to BJP in Lok Sabha elections’
Kharge told DCC chiefs at the Congress headquarters ‘Indira Bhavan’, “Our ‘Save the Constitution’ campaign has highlighted the secret intent of BJP-RSS to change the Constitution. Today, BJP does not have a majority and is dependent on two component parties. A Prime Minister had egoistic claimed that he would win 400 seats, but we gave him a big blow.
The Congress President said, “The Congress party won about 100 seats. If we had worked hard, we could have secured 20-30 seats. By securing so much seat, an alternative government could have been formed in the country. If we had done this, we could have stopped the systematic attack on our independent institutions, democracy and constitution.
‘District President is not just the messenger but the commander of the party’
He said that the Congress fight against BJP and RSS is going on both inside and outside Parliament. The Congress chief said, “We should take this fight to the streets.” Emphasizing the importance of the role of the district presidents, Kharge said that he is not just messenger, but the commander of the Congress party, who is leading on the ground. He said in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal, “Therefore, Rahul Gandhi and I recognized the need for direct communication with you.”
