In Maharashtra, the atmosphere has been hot once again regarding Maratha reservation. Maratha agitator Manoj Jarang has announced that he will travel to Mumbai on the first day of Ganeshotsav and sit on a fast in the capital. Meanwhile, the state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has given strict warning to Jarang that he should agitate, but do not use inflammatory and objectionable language.
Not tolerated comments on women and family- Bawankule
Bawankule clearly said that it is everyone’s right to agitate, but personal attacks and abuses will not be tolerated at all.
He said, “Talking about demolishing the government elected with 3.17 crore votes and more than 51% mandate is going to be angry. Maharashtra will not tolerate personal attacks. Especially objectionable comments will not be accepted on the families of our mothers and sisters and leaders.”
Bawankule said that the government does not want to suppress anyone’s voice and everyone has the freedom to agitate. But he reiterated that the movement should be within the purview of decency and dignity. Threats and derogatory words are not part of the culture of Maharashtra. Issues can be resolved only through patience and dialogue.
Fadnavis’s efforts praised
The Revenue Minister appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Maratha reservation. He said that Fadnavis studied this issue day and night, took legal advice, socio-economic survey and made a law to give reservation to Maratha society. This law was also approved by the Legislative Assembly and the High Court, but later the Supreme Court rejected it.
Bawankule said, “Fadnavis had put his reputation at stake for the Maratha society.”
The minister also clarified that the Mahayuti government is fully committed to providing justice to the Maratha society. “Our government is not weak, but strong. Whatever justice has to be given to the Maratha society, it will definitely give our government. The government was with the Maratha society and will always be together.”
Mumbai march will be Jarage
Manoj Jarang has announced that he will leave his native village in Jalna district for Mumbai on Wednesday. They are demanding that all the Marathas be given the status of Kunbi (agro -based OBC caste), so that they can get the benefit of reservation. Despite all the efforts of the government, Jarang has made it clear that he will not back down from his decision.
