These days there is a debate going on in Bollywood regarding 8 hour shift. Deepika Padukone had demanded 8-hour shifts from the producers, after which she was thrown out of Spirit and Kalki 2. After which there is a lot of debate going on in the industry regarding 8 hour shift. After Deepika, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee have also spoken on this issue. Now actress Yami Gautam has expressed her opinion on this issue.

These days Yami Gautam is busy promoting her film Haq. Emraan Hashmi is going to be seen in the lead role with Yami in Haq. This film is being released in theaters on 7th November. Yami has expressed her opinion in an interview given to Times Now.

Yami expressed her opinion

Yami Gautam did not talk about this. He said that there are many actors whose contract does not include night shoots. He shoots for 5 days and 8 hours. This is decided in advance between the director, producer and actor. So why is it that if a female actor has said it, it has become an issue. At the end of the day, we are humans who create art and emotion in the most awkward of circumstances. So I don’t think there is anything wrong in asking about the timing if the production feels the timing is right. If it feels right, they move forward, if not, they don’t.

Yami further said- We want a time cap like any other field, but our field is a little different. Location, permissions, permutations, combinations, other actors, technicians, there are many things. So this whole concept of time cap, for me, is very subjective on the collaboration and understanding of an actor, a producer and a director.

Rani has also expressed her opinion

Rani Mukherjee has also reacted to the issue of 8 hour shift. Rani had said in an interview given to ANI- ‘When I had hiccups, Adira was 14 months old. I had to do everything and go to a college in the city for a shoot. Due to traffic, it took two hours to reach the location from home. For this reason, I had decided that the first shot would be at 8 o’clock and I would finish everything by 1 o’clock. I used to complete the shooting in 6-7 hours.

Kajol had said this

Kajol had said in an interview that ‘I have never worked for 20 hours in my film career. I have always worked on a fixed schedule and did only one film at a time. I do another film only after one film is over.
