An important meeting of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) was held on Sunday. This meeting of the board was held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Chairman Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, in which many important issues related to Waqf properties, Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 and Muslim community were discussed.
In this meeting, there was a serious discussion regarding the process of registration of Waqf properties on UMEED portal. The Board acknowledged that complaints have been received from many states of the country that the portal is very slow, crashes frequently and it takes 40-45 minutes to upload documents of a property. Also, due to the requirement of many documents, the process becomes even more complicated.
Waqf help desks will be established at all major places
In view of this problem, it was decided that Waqf help desks will be established at all major places. Mutawallis and concerned people will be provided assistance in uploading documents with the help of technical experts at these desks. However, the board has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding extension of the last date of the portal and making the system simple and user-friendly. The next hearing on this issue will be on October 28.
Efforts for the success of Ramlila Maidan program
In this meeting, coordinator of Tahaffuz-e-Aqaf (Protection of Waqf Properties) campaign, Dr. SQR Ilyas gave information about the second phase of the campaign against the Waqf Amendment Act 2025. He told that the cooperation of all religious and community organizations will be taken to make the public meeting to be held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on 16th November a success. There are plans to organize big public meetings in the states also.
In this meeting, Vice President Maulana Obaidullah Khan Azmi, Maulana Asghar Ali Imam Mehdi, Syed Saadatullah Hussaini, General Secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujadidi, Treasurer Prof. M Riaz Umar, Spokesperson Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas, women wing in-charge Advocate Jalisha Sultana Yasin, Asaduddin Owaisi, Maulana Mahmood Madani, Maulana Khalilur Rahman Sajjad Nomani, Arif Masood (MLA), Advocate MR Shamshad and many other prominent members were present.
