Mark zuckerberg: In today’s digital era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become the biggest race and META is now going to make this game bigger. According to a report, Mark Zuckerberg’s company is paying $ 55 (about Rs 5,000) per hour to contractors in the US to make a chatbot for local culture and language for countries like India.

Why do Meta want Hindi creators?

Meta is not just looking for coders. The company wants people who have at least six years of experience of storytelling, character creation and prompt engineering and which are fluent in languages like Hindi, Indonesian, Spanish or Portuguese. The aim of these chatbots is that people should join AI personalities on Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp that look absolutely local and real.

Zuckerberg’s big plan

Zuckerberg’s vision is that AI chatbots should be a part of people’s lives rather than just tech tools. They believe that a time will come when such chatbots will act like real friends and make our daily needs easier.

This is not the first experiment. In 2023, META launched celebrities with celebrity-based AI bots such as Kendall Jenner and Snoop Dogg, but they could not last long. In 2024, the company introduced AI Studio through which common users can also make their chatbott.

Why is this project special for India?

There are millions of users of Instagram and WhatsApp in India. In such a situation, launching Hindi chatbots can prove to be very beneficial for Meta. If these bots connect with the language and culture of Indian users, then both the company’s engagement and revenue will grow rapidly.

Challenges and controversies

However, it is not easy to make chatbots. Earlier, META has been accused of leaking sensitive data by her AI bots and generated inappropriate content several times. American senators also sought answers from the company. In Indonesia and America, some chatbots’ controversial characters (such as “Russian Girl” and “Lonally Woman” damaged the company’s image. This is the reason that this time Meta is insisting on making real and safe characters by including local creators and experts.

What will be the result?

META does not want to let any risk go by hand at this time. Therefore, she is spending money on such writers and cultural experts who can prepare realistic and relative AI personalities for the digital world. It will be interesting to see how much Hindi chatbots have an impact in India, will this step prove to be a masterstroke of Zuckerberg or the reason for a new controversy?
