Malaika Arora married Arbaaz Khan in 1998. But they got divorced in 2018. After this, Malaika remained in a relationship with Arjun Kapoor, while Arbaaz Khan got married for the second time to Shura Khan. Recently Malaika has raised questions on judging girls in cases of divorce and affair. He has also talked about boys marrying underage girls without taking the name of Arbaaz Khan.
While talking to Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Malaika Arora said- ‘You are constantly judged for being strong. We will keep getting these opinions in any case. I have immense respect and love for men because some men in my life have been very important and wonderful.
‘Marry a girl half your age…’
Malaika Arora said- ‘Today if a man decides to move ahead, gets a divorce, marries a girl half his age, then it feels like wow, what a man he is. But when a woman does this, she is questioned as to why she would do this? Doesn’t he understand? Stereotypes persist.
Mother gave such advice to Malaika
Malaika further told that when she decided to get married at the age of 25, her mother was surprised. He said- ‘My mother always used to say, go out, enjoy your life and please don’t marry the first boy you go on a date with and I did the same. I married the first guy I dated. She couldn’t understand why I would do this.
The actress further said- She used to say that if you do this, how will you ever know what is there in the world? And I used to say, mother, calm down now. But she has always encouraged us to live and dream. He never stopped us from doing anything.
