Maruti Suzuki Sales Report 2025: India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest sales in FY 2024-25 so far. This year the company sold a total of 22 lakh 34 thousand 266 cars, out of which 17 lakh 95 thousand 259 cars were sold in India and 3 lakh 32 thousand 585 cars were exported.
This year there was a decline in the demand for hatchback, while the popularity of the SUV segment increased rapidly. The demand for small cars like Alto, Swift and WagonR has decreased. While the sale of SUV cars like Fronx, Brezza and Grand Vitara has risen.
Decline in demand for hatchback
The sales of some popular hatchback models of Maruti Suzuki were lower in 2024-25 as compared to 2023-24. Mini Segment (Alto, S -reso)-142,094 units were sold in 2023-24, while in 2024-25 the number decreased to 125,770 units. The compact segment (Baleno, Dzire, Swift, WagonR)-828,015 units were sold in 2023-24, which declined to 770,737 units in 2024-25.
Record increase in sales of SUV cars
On the other hand, there was a huge bounce in the SUV segment. SUV Sales-2023-24 had 642,296 units, while 2024-25 increased to 720,186 units. The total sales of passenger vehicles (PV) increased to 1,760,767 units.
Fronx and Grand Vitara rocked
SUV cars like Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga and Grand Vitara recorded tremendous sales. Fronx became the best -selling car for a month. Fronx sales was more than the company’s hatchback cars. Maruti Suzuki is going to launch more new SUVs in the coming time.
SUV’s increasing demand in Indian market
In the Indian car market, SUV is now being given more priority than hatchback. Customers are shifting to SUV due to features like big cabins, powerful engines and high-ground clearance. In the coming time, Maruti Suzuki can fulfill this growing demand by launching a new SUV cars.
