There was chaos in Shri Krishna Sharanam Society located on Chhatikara Marg, Vrindavan in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday morning when a massive fire broke out in flat number 212 of Sant Premanand Ji Maharaj. The primary cause of the fire is said to be electrical short circuit. However, during the incident, the misbehavior with the local people, policemen and journalists by the Maharaja’s servants has further heated up the matter.
According to the information received, seeing the sudden smoke and flames rising in the flat, people nearby ran for help. The fortunate thing is that Premanand Maharaj has been residing in Shri Radhahit Kalikunj for the last one month, due to which a major accident was averted. As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police and fire department team reached the spot and quickly controlled the fire.
Misbehavior with journalists and local people
Tension prevailed on the spot when Maharaj’s servants started forcibly stopping the journalists doing coverage and the local people making videos. According to eyewitnesses, the servicemen snatched mobile phones from many people and also misbehaved with the policemen present there.
anger among local people
There is deep anger among the local Braj residents due to this aggressive and indecent behavior of the saint’s servants. People say that while on one hand people had come to help during the crisis, on the other hand the service personnel showed rudeness instead of service spirit. Local residents have demanded appropriate action from the police administration against the servicemen. The behavior of the sevadars has sparked a new debate in the religious and social circles of Vrindavan.
In this case, the fire brigade has started investigating the accident and there is no information about any casualty. The local administration has also started checking the equipment in the building regarding fire prevention.
