Bollywood actress Nusrat Bharucha attended the Bhasma Aarti at the world famous Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain. He had darshan of Lord Mahakal and offered water as per the religious traditions of the temple. But the reactions that followed have made it a subject of discussion and controversy.

After Nusrat Bharucha’s visit to Mahakal temple, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi gave a strong reaction. He said that it is against Islam for a Muslim woman to go to a temple and worship, offer water and follow Hindu religious traditions. According to Maulana, Islam and Shariat do not allow such actions. He termed this step as a violation of religious rules and called it a serious matter.

Nusrat Bharucha is a culprit in the eyes of Shariat – Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi
According to IANS, in his statement issued from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that Nusrat Bharucha is a culprit in the eyes of Shariat. He said that the actress has behaved against the principles of Islam and hence falls in the category of a major crime. Maulana also said that because she has done this against Islam, she has come under the influence of Shariat and she is the victim of a serious crime.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi further said in his statement that Nusrat Bharucha should repent. He advised him to read Istighfar and Kalma. According to him, repentance is the only way out of this situation.
