A major road accident took place in Katra police station area of Shahjahanpur district. A speeding car collided with a roadways bus parked on the roadside near Kachhiani Kheda on Shahjahanpur-Bareilly road. This car is said to belong to Farman Raza, son of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan. The collision was so strong that the front part of the car was completely shattered. However, Farman suffered only minor injuries in this accident.
According to the information received, the driver of the roadways bus of Sitapur depot going to Haridwar had parked the bus in front of Hanuman temple and went to offer Prasad.
Meanwhile, Farman Raza’s car which came from behind collided with the bus. There was chaos on the spot after the accident. Farman, who was trapped in the car, was taken out with the help of local people. He looked quite nervous.
Case filed against Tauqeer Raza’s son in Bareilly
Bareilly DIG Ajay Sahni has confirmed the arrest and registration of case against Farman Raza, son of Maulana Tauqeer Raza. DIG has told that Shahjahanpur police has recovered crystal powder from Farman. Also, further action is going on in the case.
Claim of recovery of drugs from briefcase
As soon as information about the accident was received, Nagariya Chowki police reached the spot. The police separated the roadways bus and car and normalized the traffic. About 15 passengers traveling in the bus were sent to another bus.
When the police asked Farman to open the trunk of the car, he initially refused and said that the keys were missing. As the strictness increased, he revealed his name as Farman Raza and his father’s name as Maulana Tauqeer Raza.
Considering the sensitivity of the matter, SP Rural Deeksha Bhanware Arun and CO Jyoti Yadav also reached the spot. According to the police, when the trunk of the car was opened, half a gram of crystal drugs and a syringe were recovered from a briefcase kept in it. Police say that during interrogation, Farman admitted that he uses drugs.
Police took Farman into custody and sent him to Tilhar CHC for medical examination. The accident car and roadways bus were parked at Katra police station. According to the police, Farman was earlier talking about going to Allahabad, but had returned en route.
Family members reached the police station at night
As soon as the news of the accident and detention spread, people of Aala Hazrat family reached Katra police station late in the night. There was discussion and commotion going on in the police station for a long time regarding the release of Farman. According to sources, after efforts at many levels, the order was handed over to the family members at around 2 o’clock in the night.
Controversy over drug recovery
After the release of Farman, the family members have completely rejected the police claim of recovery of drugs. He says that this allegation is wrong. The police say that the investigation of the case is ongoing and further action will be taken on the basis of facts.
