Mehbooba Mufti said when 5 MLAs were nominated in Jammu and Kashmir, ‘In the only Muslim-Bahul region …’

The central government’s statement of nominating five MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir has created a ruckus. Former Chief Minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said that the Government of India’s decision to nominate 5 MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir after holding elections is an open violation of democratic principles.

He said on Monday (August 11), “The central government does not choose the legislators arbitrarily to ignore the mandate of the people elsewhere in the country. This step in India’s only Muslim-Bahul region, which has been struggling with long struggle, feels more controlled than governance.

Omar Abdullah made this appeal

Mehbooba Mufti said, “This enrollment is another major shock on the concept of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir after illegal division of the state, partisan delimitation and discriminatory seat reservation. Representation should be earned by public vote, not by order of the center. It cannot be allowed to become a common practice. ”

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti said, “Hope that Omar Abdullah’s government will come forward to challenge this undemocratic example, as the silence will be similar to that the silence will be likely later.”

Central government affidavit

Explain that the Union Home Ministry has informed the Jammu and Kashmir High Court that the Lieutenant Governor can nominate five members in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly even without the help and advice of the elected government.

According to The Hindu report, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said in the affidavit given in the court that this nomination is out of the jurisdiction of the elected government of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress leader Ravinder Kumar Sharma has challenged the decision of the central government to appoint five MLAs in the High Court. It will now be heard on August 14.
