Microsoft Notepad Gets Markdown Support Formatting toolbar in New Update Details Inseed

Microsoft has started rolling out the new version of Notepad (v11.2504.50.0) for Windows 11 users, in which the experience of text editing is now completely changing. In the latest update, Notepad has been updated with Markdown support, so that users can now use formatting tools like Headings, Lists, Bold, Italic and Hyperlinks inside the app. For this, a new formatting toolbar has been added to the app, so that you can apply the formatting on the text or on the pre -written text.

This Update The special thing of that is that it is not just limited to visual formatting, Notepad can now understand and process the Markdown files. That is, there will be no need to open a separate app for users working with Markdown Syntax. You can easily switch between Markdown Formated View and Raw Syntax mode and also clear the entire format when needed.

Microsoft has named this update as “lightweight formatting”, so that users who work with the simpleness of notepad do not find it heavy. The company has also given an option that if a user does not want to use such formatting tools, they can be fully disabled with app settings.

Even before this, notepad Updates Have met Now spellcheck and autocorrect feature has become active in it, so that users can rectify mistakes immediately during typing. Also, options like AI-powered Copilot tools such as rewrite, summarize and Make Shorter/Longer are also appearing in some versions, although they are active by Microsoft 365 or Copilot Pro subscription.

A few months ago, Notepad received necessary updates like multi-table support and auto-service. Now after including the Markdown and Formating Tools, Notepad is becoming a complete productivity tool, not just a text editor. This update is currently released in Windows 11’s DEV and Canary Channels and is expected to enter the stable version soon.
