Nevertheless, films earned just 14 million i.e. 60 crores. At the same time, the film Monsoon Wedding earned 60 crores in America and Canada alone. While the film’s worldwide collection was a bang of 145 crores. It was the highest grossing Indian film until 15 years later, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dangal did not leave it behind.

There was no big film star in the film

The story of the film Monsoon Wedding is of a middle Punjabi family in Delhi, which shows confusion, love, emotion, quarrels and culture during the wedding preparations. The special thing about this film was that there was no big face in it. In this, only television celebs were cast. There were celebs like Naseeruddin Shah, Lillet Dubey, Vijay Raj, Shefali Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Roshan Seth, Soni Razdan, Parvin Dabas. Along with this, there were three new faces like Vasundhara Das, Randeep Hooda, and Ram Kapoor.
