Mithi river scam: Bollywood actor Dino Moriya and his brother had appeared before the Economic Offenses Branch (EOW) of the Mumbai Police this morning in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Mithi river scam. Both were questioned for about 8 hours. Both came out after questioning at 7 pm.
EOW has also questioned Dino’s brother Santino Moriya regarding the case. According to EOW sources, Ketan Kadam, the main accused in the sweet river scam case, has talked to Dino Moriya and his brother several times over the phone. In such a situation, the police had summoned both of them for questioning in the case. What questions did the police report during this time have not been revealed at the moment.
About sweet river scam
The EOW has alleged that Jai Joshi, Kadam and co-accused, collected highly increased rates from the Municipal Corporation for the machinery purchased from Kochi firm Matpopopopp-Technical Services Private Limited. Dino Moriya and his brother are also suspected of being involved in the matter. Investigators believe that this scam has been done in collaboration with Matteprop officials and BMC Storm Water Drains (SWD) Department officials.

Dino Moriya made her Bollywood debut with the 1999 film Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. He got recognition from the 2002 film Raj. Bipasha Basu was in the lead role with her in this film. Apart from Hindi, actor also appeared in more than 50 films in Tamil and Kannada. He also has a production company named Clockwise Films. Recently Dino Moriya was seen in the web series ‘The Royals’. The series was released on Netflix, in which Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khattar were in lead roles.
