Raj thackeray on uddhav thackeray: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray expressed his desire to unite for the benefit of Maharashtra and Marathi people by forgetting differences between Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. During an interview, he spoke openly about Marathi Identity, Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Eknath Shinde’s politics and Uddhav Thackeray alliance.

Raj Thackeray said, “Controversies and disagreements between us are much smaller than big issues. Maharashtra is much larger than our personal issues. These cases are very minor in the fight for existence of Marathi identity. It is not a difficult thing to come together or work together. It is only a matter of willpower and it is not only about me. I believe that all the Marathi people of political parties should make a front.

MNS performance in Maharashtra assembly elections

After his statement, many political estimates are being made. It should be assumed that if Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray come together, then they try to understand how much change in the politics of Maharashtra will come together. Raj Thackeray -led MNS had a disappointing performance in the Maharashtra assembly elections. The party was expecting a comeback after a poor performance for the last ten years but reached its low level. After the formation of the party in 2006, for the first time in 2024, the party could not be elected a single MLA in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, even Raj Thackeray’s sons lost the election. The party contested 128 seats across the state, out of which 26 seats were in Mumbai.

In Mumbai, MNS caused the most damage to Eknath Shinde -led Shiv Sena. The Raj Thackeray-led party cut the votes of Shiv Sena-led Shiv Sena on at least seven seats- Vikhroli, Jogeshwari East, Dindoshi, Kalina, Bandra East, Mahim and Worli, Shiv Sena-led Shiv Sena and due to this he suffered a defeat with Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray). MNS stood third on these seats and snatched a large part of the votes.

How much will the political mathematics of Maharashtra change by coming with Thackeray brothers?

If the results of the assembly elections held in Maharashtra were seen, Raj Thackeray’s party MNS performed disappointing. Despite this, the party played an important role in changing the size of the results. It was because of the role of MNS that Uddhav Thackeray’s victory in Mumbai was cleared for the Shiv Sena.

Out of 20 seats won by Uddhav’s army, 10 seats were won by a less than the votes received by MNS candidates. This helped Uddhav Thackeray to maintain his political relevance, especially in Mumbai where a close match was seen in 8 out of 10 seats. In these 8 seats, MNS took away the votes of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and helped Uddhav Thackeray.

Raj Thackeray made MNS in 2006

MNS was born in 2006, when Raj revolted against Shiv Sena founder and his uncle Bal Thackeray and went out of the party. His uncle Bala Saheb decided to make his son Uddhav his successor. Raj Thackeray also got success after the formation of the party. In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the party fielded 11 candidates and everyone had to face defeat, but in many seats, the Shiv Sena was damaged and caught the attention of the people. In the same year, MNS contested 143 seats in the assembly elections and in his first attempt, 13 MLAs arrived in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

However, from this, the fate of MNS reversed and in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the party fielded 10 candidates, all of which were forfeited. In the assembly elections, MNS contested 219 out of 288 seats, bail for 209 seats and won only one seat. Then MNS did not participate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but in the Maharashtra elections, it contested 101 seats and once again won only one seat. The party did not get even a seat in the afternoon elections.
