The Modi government has given a big relief news for the youth troubled by unemployment. The Central Government has approved a new and revolutionary scheme “Employment Linked Inscent (ELI) Scheme”, which aims to create a large scale employment opportunities in the country. This scheme is especially for those youth who are going to work for the first time and who do not have experience.
ELI i.e. the “Employment Linked Insentive” scheme was recently approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this scheme, the government aims to get employment to more than 3.5 crore people in the coming two years. For this, the government has fixed a budget of Rs 1 lakh crore.
For the first time, those working will benefit
The most important thing about this scheme is that for the first time the government will give incentive amount to those working. Such youth will get subsidy equal to one month salary in two installments (maximum Rs 15,000). The first installment will be given after 6 months and the second after 12 months. This subsidy will be given directly to the companies, so that they can hire more and more new employees.
Special focus on manufacturing sector
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the special focus of this scheme is on the manufacturing sector, so that maximum employment can be generated there. Apart from this, the government will also provide help to keep someone on the job for a long time. If a company maintains an employee for 2 years, then he will be given financial assistance of up to Rs 3000 every month on each employee.

What else happened in the cabinet?
Apart from the ELI scheme, some more big decisions have also been taken in the cabinet. Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) scheme has been approved, which aims to promote private companies in strategic and emerging areas for research and innovation. Along with this, approval has also been given to make 46.7 km Parakudi-Ramnathpuram highway in Tamil Nadu 4 lanes, which will give new speed to regional development.
