‘Modi ji will come on stage and dance for votes’, ruckus over Rahul Gandhi’s statement in Bihar, BJP calls him ‘local goon’

Before the Bihar Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started his campaign from Muzaffarpur. While sharing the stage with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav at a joint rally, he launched a scathing attack on both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Rahul Gandhi said, if you ask Narendra Modi to dance in exchange for votes, he will also dance on the stage.

Rahul further said that Modi ji has nothing to do with Chhath Puja or cleaning the Yamuna river, he just wants your votes. He compared the devotees worshiping in the polluted Yamuna in Delhi and the Prime Minister taking ‘bath in a specially made pond’ and said – ‘Modi ji had gone to take bath in his swimming pool, he has nothing to do with Chhath Puja.’

BJP’s counterattack
BJP hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s comment on PM Modi. The ruling BJP described Rahul Gandhi’s language as that of a ‘local goon’ and said he ‘insulted everyone who voted for PM Modi.’ BJP alleged that these comments ‘made a mockery of Indian voters and democracy’.

Rahul also attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that he ‘has done nothing for the backward classes in 20 years.’ He alleged that BJP is using Nitish Kumar’s image while ‘the remote control is in the hands of BJP.’ Rahul said, ‘Nitish ji’s face is being used, but the real control is with BJP. They have nothing to do with social justice.

‘There may be an attempt to steal votes’- Rahul Gandhi
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi again repeated his old allegation that BJP ‘steals votes’. He said, ‘They stole elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, and now they will try their best in Bihar also.’ Referring to the case of removal of about 66 lakh names from the voter list in Bihar, Rahul appealed to the people to vote for the ‘Grand Alliance’.

‘Every section will be represented’- Congress MP
Rahul said, ‘They will try their best not to form a government with the voice of Bihar, but we guarantee that we will form a government representing every class, every caste, every religion. We will not leave anyone behind.

Slogan of ‘Made in Bihar’
Taking aim at Prime Minister Modi’s economic policies, Rahul said that demonetization and GST ruined small businesses. Questioning the crowd, he said, ‘What is written on the back of your mobile? – Made in China, we say – it should be made in Bihar, so that the youth of Bihar get employment. Rahul said the Congress-led UPA government had tried to revive Nalanda University and his dream was to make Bihar a global hub of education again.
