Despite BCCI’s warning, Asian Cricket Council Chairman (ACC Chairman) Mohsin Naqvi has once again refused to give the Asia Cup trophy to the Indian team. Mohsin Naqvi is also the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, he has talked about getting a presentation ceremony done. Naqvi says that if BCCI wants, it can send any of its players to receive the trophy in this presentation ceremony.
Mohsin Naqvi’s pride is not breaking
BCCI had recently written a letter to Mohsin Naqvi, in which there was a demand to give the Asia Cup trophy to Team India, but Naqvi is not ready to bow down.
According to news agency PTI, Asian Cricket Council sources said that BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, boards of other countries including Sri Lanka and Afghanistan also wrote a letter to ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi last week asking that the Asia Cup trophy be given to Team India.
Come to Dubai, take the trophy…
It was further told in the same report that Mohsin Naqvi is adamant on his point. Naqvi wants BCCI to send one of its representatives to Dubai and take the trophy from his hands. On the other hand, BCCI has already made it clear that no member of it or Team India will take the trophy from Naqvi’s hands. The source said that now perhaps the decision will be taken in the ICC meeting itself.
Where is the Asia Cup trophy?
The Asia Cup trophy is currently kept in the ACC office in Dubai. According to reports, Mohsin Naqvi has given strict orders that the Asia Cup trophy will not be moved from one place to another without his absence or his approval.
