Mongolia confirmed measles cases: The outbreak of measles in Mongolia is increasing. According to the National Center for Communicable Disease (NCCD), 232 new measles cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, causing a total of 10,065 cases in the country.
Total recovery number reached 8,405
At the same time, 260 more patients have been cured, due to which the total recovery number has reached 8,405. The NCCD reported that most of the school -going children in new cases, who got only one dose of measles vaccine. In view of this situation, the NCCD has appealed to the family to get both the doses of measles vaccine to protect their children from this serious disease.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), measles is infectious viral disease, which spreads easily through breath, cough or sneezing. Even it can lead to death.
What are its symptoms?
Measles mainly affects children, but no person who takes the vaccine or whose immune system is weak can be vulnerable to this disease. Symptoms include high fever, cough, nose and rashes on the entire body.
According to WHO, vaccination is the most effective way to prevent measles prevention and its spread. It is not only safe but also helps in fighting the virus.
About 1,07,500 people died from measles
Before the start of measles vaccine in 1963, there used to be a large -scale epidemic every 2 to 3 years, killing about 26 lakh people every year. Despite the availability of safe and affordable vaccine in 2023, measles died of about 1,07,500 people, mostly children under the age of five.
Mongolia has more measles cases, especially in areas where health facilities are weak. The NCCD has warned that children and pregnant women who have not put effective vaccine in the prevention of this disease have the most chances of getting into it. Experts have advised that the vaccination campaign will have to be spread rapidly.
