The International Saudi Falcon and Hunting Exhibition 2025, organized in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is currently the center of discussion across the world. In this exhibition, the most expensive Mongolian Falcon so far was sold for 6,50,000 Saudi Riyal i.e. about Rs 1.53 crore.

This historic auction not only reflects the Arab world’s love for falconry, but has also become a symbol of the confluence of tradition and luxury in the modern era.

A total of two Mongolian eagles were put up for auction in this year’s exhibition. The first eagle was a young one, whose initial bid started from 70,000 riyals and reached 128,000 riyals. The second eagle was adult and trained, which had an initial price of 1 lakh riyals, but was finally sold for 6.5 lakh riyals (Rs 1.53 crore).

This year, the Mongolian Falcon Zone was created for the first time at the exhibition, where rare falcon species from East Asia were displayed. This was the place where this record auction took place.

Mongolian eagles are renowned for their strength, stamina and keen hunting ability. They are larger and heavier than normal falcons and their wings are longer and stronger. Having grown up in the cold Mongolian environment, they perform brilliantly even in desert and hot areas.

Mongolian eagles can dive at a speed of 240 kilometers per hour while hunting. Their trainability is very high and they understand human gestures quickly. They are found in colors ranging from white to dark brown, which further enhances their beauty.

Due to its special qualities, the Mongolian eagle has become a symbol of both prestige and hobby in Arab society. Falconry i.e. hunting with hawks is a centuries-old tradition of Arab countries. It is not just a game but is considered a symbol of respect and social prestige.

In countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, trained eagles are a symbol of wealth and courage. Rabbits, pheasants and small birds are hunted with them. Falcon competitions and Falcon Beauty Contests are held every year in cities such as Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

In 2010, UNESCO recognized falconry as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

This time more than 30 countries participated in this exhibition organized in Riyadh. It was organized by Saudi Falcon Club. Along with auction, drone falconry show, falconry training demonstration and stalls related to eco-tourism were set up in the fair.
