A necessary news has come out for the children studying in Himachal Pradesh and all the people associated with schools. Himachal Pradesh School Education Board (HPBOSE) has announced monsoon holiday dates for schools coming in all summer, winter and special areas of the state.
This decision has been taken in view of the increasing impact of monsoon in the state and safety of children. The board has given clear instructions that all schools will have to strictly follow the fixed dates of the holidays. If a school ignored this order and remained open on the holidays, then the school administration will have the responsibility of any kind of accident.
Why are these holidays important?
The rainy season in Himachal sometimes creates difficulties. Especially in the hilly areas, landslides, water filling and closure of roads are common. Keeping this in mind, the board has fixed different holiday dates for schools according to the weather and place.
Schools will have to open school during holidays
The board has also said that if a school is found open during the holidays, or there is an accident due to the school being open, then legal action will be taken on it. The board has given strict warning to schools not to compromise on the safety of students and staff and follow the holiday rules.
How long will the schools be closed from when?
Himachal Pradesh Board has declared holiday dates according to different areas. In some areas this holiday is starting early, while some in a little late. Let’s know how long schools will remain closed in which field-
Holidays in summer schools: 12 July to 12 August 2025
Schools in Kullu district holidays: 20 July to 12 August 2025
Holidays in winter schools: 7 August to 12 August 2025
Excessive heat areas (Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Suri, Indora, Paonta Sahib, Amb – Una): 3 August to 12 August 2025
Special instruction given to school administration
The board has also said that schools will have to give information about the time table related to the holidays on time to the students and parents, so that no one is inconvenienced. Also, the forecast of the Meteorological Department will also have to be monitored, so that a decision can be taken immediately in an emergency.
