More opportunities for jobs are being available in these cities of the country, hiring also more than the metros

People in the country usually move to big cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi for employment, but now the situation is gradually changing. Small towns like Udaipur, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Lucknow and Indore are emerging as a hub of job creations. This change has happened in the last few years. People’s thinking about this is now changing that employment opportunities are limited to metros only.

More opportunities are available in small cities

The country’s economy is changing. Technology is being adopted in every sector. Alam is that now more employment opportunities are coming out from small cities and towns. According to an ET report, small cities from Udaipur to Visakhapatnam and Nagpur in the first half of 2025 performed well from big cities in terms of software and recruitment in IT sector as compared to the last one year. According to a report by Teamlease, there were more than 50 % appointments in Tier-II and Tier-III cities during January to June. Whereas Tier-1 cities like Bengaluru increased by only 12-15 percent.

Small towns also came forward in IT sector

Speaking to ET, Chief Executive Niti Sharma, Chief Executive of Teamlies Digital, said, “There was a big change in the IT sector of the country in the year 2025. In Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, people got more jobs in this sector. ”This change has happened in a few years, especially since the Korona epidemic. Cities like Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nashik have got jobs in 20-25 percent in this year as compared to last year. 30-40 percent people were taken to work in IT fields in Indore and Jaipur. According to teamlies data, the appointment in assistant works was 24-31 percent in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, while Tier-I cities were recorded 8-15 %.

Companies looking at small cities

One thing is clear from this that in the last few years, there was a tremendous bounce in BFSI, Manufacturing, Retail and IT sector in small cities. According to a report by Randstad Talent Insights Report 2025, jobs in Tier-II cities have increased by about 42 %, while Tier-1 cities have increased by only 19 %. Even in small cities, consumption is increasing rapidly, infrastructure is developing, education is improving. In such a situation, many companies are taking care of these cities keeping in mind the low cost. As a result, opportunities to work are also getting more and more.
