Pakistan’s anti-cyber crime agency on Thursday (October 23, 2025) took a major action against the radical Islamic party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP). Pakistani anti-cyber crime agency has arrested more than 100 social media activists of fundamentalist party TLP for posting inflammatory posts on social media. The information was given by Ajma Bukhari, a provincial minister of Pakistan.
TLP 107 social media workers arrested – Ajma Bukhari
Information Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province Ajma Bukhari held a press conference in this regard in Lahore on Thursday (October 23, 2025). Azma Bukhari said in the press conference, ‘We have arrested 107 social media activists of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan for posting inflammatory posts. Apart from this, 75 social media accounts have also been blocked.
In fact, last week about 16 people were killed in clashes between police and supporters of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan in Muridke, about 60 kilometers from Lahore. Policemen from Punjab province were also among those killed. Apart from this, more than 1,600 people were also injured.
Punjab province police gave information
In this regard, the police of Punjab province claimed that last week a large number of people were protesting against Israel outside the US Embassy in the country’s capital Islamabad. Which later turned into a violent clash. So far, more than 6,000 workers of the radical Islamic party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan have been arrested in this regard.
At the same time, the government has till now sealed 61 madrassas run by this fundamentalist party. The Auqaf department of the Punjab government has been handed over the control of all the mosques and madrassas of TLP.
TLP Claimed about violent clash
The TLP claimed that police fired directly at unarmed protesters, killing dozens of supporters and injuring thousands who wanted to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
