In Uttar Pradesh, the government headed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made preparations to change more than 11 laws including Abakari, One. The Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement that the CM discussed the provisions of the ‘Easy Trade (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025’ in a high -level meeting and gave necessary instructions. The Chief Minister said that it is the demand of the hour to take new steps to further strengthen #easeofdoingbusiness. Also, it is equally necessary that the safety and convenience of workers with industrial development should be ensured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while assimilating the feeling of ‘Shramev Jayate’, we have to make such reforms which prove to be beneficial for both workers and entrepreneurs.
During this time, the Chief Minister said that it is the need of the present to abolish unnecessary punitive provisions, implementing transparent and equitable system in their place. Considering objections and suggestions seriously, the ‘Amendment of Easy Trade (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025’ should be given a form that balances the interests of industries and workers. To bring transparency in the inspection system, a system of self-interest and third party audit should be adopted. While these reforms will reduce the burden of industries, the interests of workers will also be safe.

The Chief Minister’s Office told through the official account of the CMO on the social media site X that as per the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, the UP government is going to bring ‘easy trade (amendment of provisions) Bill, 2025’ soon. Under this, many laws including Excise Act, Glable Act, Tree Protection Act, Revenue Code, Sugarcane Act, Georgall Water Act, Municipal Corporation Act, Plastic waste disposal act, cinema act and region and district panchayat Act will be given more practical form. In these, where there was a provision for imprisonment earlier, there is now a plan to give more economic punishment and administrative action.

The CMO said that according to the instructions of CM Yogi, preparations are being made to abolish about 99% of criminal provisions in 13 State Acts related to industry and trade in the state. Soon, Uttar Pradesh is going to become the first such state in the country, which will convert criminal provisions into non-criminal category on such a large scale from the point of view of practicality.
