An attempt was made to steal in the house of Congress state president Jeetu Patwari late on Friday (5 September) in Bijalpur area of Indore. The incident took place around 2:15 pm, when 4 to 5 masked crooks and cutters entered Patwari’s residence. After the incident, there was a stir in the area and the police immediately reached the spot and started investigation.
The miscreants also searched the office
The miscreants first entered the office built in Patwari’s house and scrutinized the drawer, shelves and laptops, but they did not find any valuables. Even the phone and ATM card kept in the office were not raised.
According to the police, the number of miscreants was around 5 to 6 and they were active in the entire campus with a tummy and tools in their hands.
Burglary in other houses too
When the miscreants did not find anything special in Patwari’s house, they targeted the surrounding houses. These included Rajkumar Thakur, CMO of Punasa Nagar Panchayat, Narendra Dubey, engineer of the power company and Businessman Sanket Arya. The crooks stayed in these houses for about 30 minutes.
However, the miscreants ran away from the spot when Arya woke up and shouted. Local people also immediately informed the police about the incident.
CCTV incident
According to Patwari’s PA Amit Sharma, a large part of the entire incident has been captured in CCTV cameras. In the footage, the masked crooks are seen with tummy and other tools in their hands. The police is now trying to identify the miscreants based on this footage.
Police say that this incident may occur by the Bagh-Tanda gang. Forensic team and investigative dogs have also been called on the spot so that some clues can be found.

Congress raised questions on security
Madhya Pradesh Congress reacted on social media about this incident. Congress wrote: “At the Indore residence of MP Congress State President Shri Jeetu Patwari, the miscreants tried robbery late on Friday night. The number of miscreants who came from the intention of a big incident was more than 5. The miscreants wearing the mask searched the entire office of Patwari. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh is also the Chief Minister/Home Minister in-charge!
The Congress also warned the state government and the Chief Minister and said that it is their primary responsibility to ensure the safety of Jeetu Patwari.
The Congress says that there have been attacks and accidents on Patwari 5 times in the past. The party is constantly demanding the government to increase their security, but so far no concrete action has been taken.
